THE CURIOUS CASE OF SUNNY LEONE

The recent interview of SUNNY LEONE is trending for the right reasons. You call a former porn star for an interview to remind her that she was a porn star before she became a Bollywood actress.  If this is not hypocrisy then what is?  How long will it take for people to realize that the porn industry functions like every industry? The porn stars do have a life beyond what they show on screen.

Here is a woman who is not ashamed of the choices she had made. People who ridicule her fail to understand one thing. The so called past has paved the way for a very successful transition to Bollywood. In fact she’s one of the few actresses in Bollywood who has survived without the support of the Khans, Kumar or Kapoor. She’s not a top class actress -s0me0ne who could make the audience go wow with her acting skills but atleast she’s aware of her strengths.

Throughout the whole interview she was grace personified despite being provoked with some ridiculous questions. I have just one question. Are we worthy enough to be the moral police and pass judgement?  We watch her in private, wear the mask of a saint and condemn her in public.

I am not sure if I will ever admire her for her screen presence. But I definitely admire her as an honest woman who doesn’t give a damn about what people think. Atleast she isn’t two faced like most of us.
