THE ALCHEMIST – MY FIRST GLIMPSE OF PAULO COELHO

paulo

The book which gave me sleepless nights. When I first picked up the book I had no idea why it was famous and relevant even in today’s world.  I rarely finish a book in one sitting unless it’s a thriller. But the alchemist was a rare exception. Despite the lack of pace the book seduced me. Yes you heard it I just surrendered myself to those lovely words.

You travel along with Santiago as he embarks on a journey to fulfill his dreams. The lessons along the way are simple yet profound. They awaken your soul and give you the courage to dream again. Each page mesmerizes you and gives you lessons to reflect.

But the real beauty of the book is fulfilling reward at the very end of Santiago’s journey. More often than not we give up on our dreams not because of lack of ambition but lack of direction. We fail to see with our mind’s eyes. We fail to seize the opportunity which knocks at our doorstep. We look elsewhere, we wander like lost souls. Perhaps the dream lies dormant in all of us.

Sometimes all we have to do is to look within to answer destiny’s call.  All the lessons learnt in this journey of life are a key to your dream. Perhaps your treasure might just be at your doorstep

  1. It’s such a beautiful book, Salesh and a journey of life. We are seekers, aren’t we? Like you said, Sometimes all we have to do is to look within to answer destiny’s call.
My two cents: Never abandon writing because of few bad apples that we will encounter. Brush them aside and keep walking:)
